Last Sunday’s “May Warmer” Half Baked event truly lived up to its fame as the “classic” Half Baked we have all grown to love. Sun screen, shades, bubble guns, inflatables, 27 degree heat, Funktion Ones, ice cream truck , friendly happy people plus an array of entertainment including table tennis, oversized deck chairs and stick-on moustaches were scattered around the Hackney Wick car park. Coupled with the wicked summer weather so rare for London these days, it all contributed to this great day of sun, friends and amazing music!
Half Baked’s hottest party (literally) of the summer started off with RA’s SAOirse and HB’s own Robin Ordell, and continued with Franco Cinelli’s performance followed by South African Portable of Zip’s Perlon label, whose set became a definite culminating point of the event which went well into the warm evening at Monier street, with an unforgettable view of the olympic site.
Remi, Half Baked co-founder, afterwards said it was a great success but that numbers were lower than expected (perhaps because getting to the venue was a bit of a mission!) They should hijack the London Fields Lido next time round! We reminisced about last year’s HB with Guy Gerber under the bridge by Shoreditch station:
Looking forward to seeing the Half baked family again for ‘Half of the Stars’ and in Barcelona for their OFF Sonar Rooftop Garden Party. Definitely not one to miss. Half Baked still remains one of the best parties for atmosphere and music in 2012. Summer madness has officially kicked off!
